Inflammation stayed flat overnight in earthed patients. In controls it climbed.
Eighty-four patients recovering from spinal surgery, half earthed during night rest. Median CRP — the standard inflammation marker — moved 0.05 mg/dL in the earthed group against 17.2 in controls. Pain scores fell twice as far, and the authors describe a strong analgesic effect.

Vagal tone rose in a neonatal intensive care unit — and fell again when unplugged
Not an earthing-industry study: a hospital measured what grounding does to the nervous systems of infants in intensive care. Vagal tone — the direct index of the body’s rest-and-repair state — rose 67%, and skin voltage dropped about 95%. Remove the ground and both returned to baseline.

Grounding roughly doubled the heart-rate-variability gain of rest alone
Each subject ran both conditions, grounded and sham, without knowing which. The parasympathetic band of heart rate variability — the measurable signature of coming out of fight-or-flight — rose 63% grounded against 33% resting. Total HRV power rose 50% against 20%.

Two hours of grounding nearly tripled red blood cells’ surface charge
Red blood cells carry a negative surface charge that makes them repel each other and flow freely. Two hours grounded raised it from −5.28 mV to −14.3 mV in all ten subjects, and cells sitting in clumps of four or more fell from 34.7 to 15.0 — a 2.3-fold drop in clumping.

The voltage your wiring induces on your body collapses the moment you ground
Fifty people, aged 12 to 79, measured in an ordinary room with an ordinary lamp. Ungrounded, the body sat at 6.87 volts. Grounded, 0.151. A separate engineering study of a conductive bed pad measured the drop as roughly 1,300 millivolts down to about 10.

More energy, less fatigue, less pain, less low mood — and it outlasted the study
Sixteen massage therapists grounded both at work and while sleeping, double-blinded, for four weeks of a six-week trial. Significant gains in physical function and energy; significant drops in fatigue, tiredness, depressed mood and pain. At the one-month follow-up, the physical function and fatigue gains were still there.

Grounded mitochondria made more energy and fewer free radicals
Working on isolated mitochondria rather than people, UC Davis researchers found grounding raised ATP output 5–11% while cutting reactive oxygen species — free radicals — by 22 to 33%. Their conclusion: grounding improves mitochondrial energetics by reducing oxidative stress.

Infrared imaging watched chronic inflammation start cooling within half an hour
Twenty documented cases imaged with medical infrared. Painful hot regions began subsiding within thirty minutes of skin contact with the earth, and resolved over nights of grounded sleep. The review sets out the mechanism: earth electrons act as antioxidants, neutralising the free radicals that keep inflammation running.
