In practice

What a set is actually like

I am seven months in and I genuinely cannot reach my own feet any more. This took four minutes on the sofa.

A woman in her sixties in a garden chair, bare feet on the grass, French toenails done

Did them at eleven at night, walked the dog at seven the next morning. Nothing had moved.

The big toe one felt too wide until I found the spare sizes in the tray. Get the fit right first and they sit completely flat.

My back turns bending over my toes into a twenty-minute negotiation. This is the first summer that hasn't mattered.

Heels kicked off under an office desk, French toenails visible
Feet crossed on a sun lounger beside a pool, French toenails still glossy

Warm water, about five minutes, and they lifted straight off. My own nails underneath were fine.

Less than one appointment, and I have had three goes out of the box.

Why a press-on at all

Polish assumes you can reach

You never fold over

A nail goes on with a press and thirty seconds of pressure. There is no repeated angle to hold, which is the part a bump, a bad back or a stiff hip makes impossible.

Nothing has to dry

The colour is already cured into the tip. The moment the last one is on you can put a sock on, get in the shower or walk out of the door.

It survives a shoe

A hard tip does not scuff against the inside of a trainer the way a fresh coat does. This is where an at-home polish job usually dies, about ninety seconds after it is finished.

Your own nail is untouched

Nothing is drilled, filed down or soaked in acetone. Warm water for a few minutes lifts the tip and the tab together, and what is underneath is the nail you started with.

Salon figures are typical advertised US prices for a standard pedicure as of August 2026, given for orientation rather than as a quote — a gel pedicure generally runs higher. The honest trade is choice: a salon has a wall of colours and a technician, and this has five French styles and four minutes.

Who buys a set

You already know if this is you

Almost nobody buys press-on toenails because they are curious. There is usually one specific reason the ordinary route stopped working.

You are far enough into a pregnancy that your own feet have quietly become somebody else's job.

No bending

Your back or your hip turns folding over your toes into a twenty-minute negotiation you would rather not have.

Sitting down

There is something on Friday and there is no appointment before it.

Four minutes

You have painted your toes carefully and then ruined two of them putting a sock on.

Nothing dries

You like how it looks but not $55 and an hour of your Saturday, every three weeks.

Exactly what turns up

The nails
Count24Twenty-four full-cover tips per set. Ten go on; the rest are the sizes either side, which is what lets you get the fit right on every toe instead of settling on the two awkward ones.
Styles5Classic French plain, or one of four with a detail on the big toe — a cherry charm, a rhinestone butterfly, an arc of gold and opal beads, or a lilac nail with a white tip and a line of stones. Every style is the same 24-nail graded set at the same price.
SizingGradedLaid out largest to smallest in the tray. You match each toe by eye before anything is stuck down — a dry run takes a minute and is the whole difference between looking real and looking applied.
FinishFrench tipA sheer pink-nude bed with a clean white band across the free edge. The design is cured into the tip rather than painted on top, so there is no coat to chip off the edge.
ShapeShort squovalCut short and squared with a soft corner — the shape that sits inside a shoe without catching. File it down further if you want shorter.
CoverageFull coverEach tip covers the whole nail rather than tipping the end, which is why an uneven or ridged nail underneath disappears completely.
Putting them on
AdhesiveJelly tabsClear double-sided tabs, included. Peel, stick to the underside of the tip, press. No liquid glue, no fumes, nothing to spill on a sofa.
GlueOptionalIf you want a longer hold, a standard nail glue works on the same tips. The tabs are the mess-free default; glue is the option for a week where they cannot move.
TimeAbout 4 minBuff, size, press, hold thirty seconds each. Most of that is the sizing, and the second set is faster because you already know your numbers.
Tools neededNoneNo lamp, no base coat, no top coat, no remover. A nail file is useful for shaping afterwards and one is usually in the box.
Wearing and removing
RemovalWarm waterSoak for a few minutes, then lift gently from the side. No acetone, no drilling, no filing back your own nail.
ReuseYesPeel the old tab off the back of the tip, keep the tip. A fresh tab and it goes on again — which is why one box is not one pedicure.
CareKeep dry 1 hrGive the tabs an hour to settle before a shower or a swim. After that, water is fine; very hot water and long soaks are what shortens the wear.
Mechanism

Why this works where polish doesn't

01 · THE COLOUR IS ALREADY FINISHED

Nothing is wet at any point

Polish has to be applied thin, in coats, and then protected for half an hour while it hardens — on toes, in a position most people cannot comfortably hold. Here the finish is cured into the tip in a factory. The only moment that matters is thirty seconds of pressure, and after that the job is simply done.

02 · FULL COVER, NOT A COAT

What is underneath stops mattering

A coat of polish shows every ridge, split and bit of discolouration through it. A full-cover tip sits over the whole nail, so an uneven surface, a nail recovering from a knock, or one that simply will not grow evenly is hidden rather than highlighted.

03 · TABS, NOT LIQUID GLUE

The mess-free version of the same idea

Liquid nail glue is the reason press-ons have a reputation. It runs, it bonds skin, and it is unforgiving of a nail placed slightly wrong. A jelly tab is a clear double-sided disc: it holds firmly, it lets you reposition once, and it peels off the tip afterwards so the tip survives to be worn again.

04 · GRADED SIZES ARE THE WHOLE TRICK

Fit is what makes it look real

The reason a cheap set looks like a cheap set is that ten nails have been made in four sizes and six of your toes are wearing something too wide. Twenty-four tips across a graded range means every toe gets one that meets the sides of the nail. Take the extra minute to dry-fit them — it is the single thing that decides how it reads.

The arithmetic

What done toes normally cost

Every other route to the same result either needs an appointment or needs you to reach your own feet. Roughly what they run:

Gel pedicure, one visit$50–80
Standard salon pedicure, one visit$40–65
At-home kit — base, colour, top, remover$25–45
Press-on toenails, one set$29.95
— each, on three sets$20.95

Comparison figures are typical advertised US prices for those categories as of August 2026, given for orientation rather than as quotes. The at-home kit is the closest on price and the furthest on effort — it still needs you to reach your toes, hold the angle, and then keep still while it dries.

Four minutes

How you put them on

1

Buff, rinse, dry

A light buff over each toenail, rinse, and dry completely. A dry nail is most of what makes a tab hold.

2

Lay out your ten sizes first

Match a tip to each toe before anything is stuck down. This is the minute that decides whether it looks done or looks stuck on.

3

Tab, press, hold thirty seconds

Peel a jelly tab onto the underside of the tip, line the tip up at the cuticle and press down firmly. Then the next one.

4

File to the length you want

Shorter, squarer, softer at the corners — whatever suits your shoes. Then stand up; there is nothing to wait for.

Questions worth asking

Will they stay on inside shoes?+

Yes, and toes are actually the easy case. Fingernails get knocked, typed with, and put in and out of pockets all day; toes spend most of their time held still inside a shoe or a sock, which is far less work for an adhesive. The two things that shorten a wear are a poor size choice — a tip narrower than the nail leaves an edge for a sock to catch — and getting them wet in the first hour before the tabs have settled. Get both right and a set stays put through ordinary days, showers included. If you have a week where they absolutely cannot move, use nail glue instead of the tabs.

Will they damage my own toenails?+

There is nothing in the process that damages a nail, which is the main practical difference between this and gel. Nothing is drilled, nothing is filed down to a rough surface, and no acetone is involved. The light buff at the start is exactly that — a scuff to take the shine off, not a sanding. Removal is a few minutes in warm water and then lifting gently from the side. The one way to cause damage is to force one off dry because you are in a hurry; give it the soak and it releases on its own.

What if none of the sizes fit my big toe?+

This is the single most common press-on problem and the reason the set has twenty-four tips rather than ten. You are looking for the tip that meets the sides of your nail without pressing into the skin on either side. If the closest one is slightly wide, file the sides down before you stick it on — a few strokes takes it in and the shape stays clean. If it is slightly narrow, go up one and file the length back instead. Very wide big toenails are the genuine edge case here; if nothing in the tray sits flat on yours, that is exactly what the 30 days is for.

Which of the five styles should I get?+

Classic French is the plain one — a nude bed and a clean white tip on every nail, and the one that reads as a straight salon pedicure. Cherry, Butterfly and Gilded are that same French base with one detail on the big toe: a little cherry charm, a rhinestone butterfly, or a curved arc of gold and opal beads. Lilac is the one that changes the colour rather than adding a charm — the whole nail is a soft lavender with a white tip, and a line of stones on the big toe. Because the detail sits on the big toe rather than all ten, the difference is noticeable close up and subtle in a shoe. If you are buying two or three sets, the sensible split is one Classic for ordinary weeks and one of the others for whatever the occasion is.

Can I mix styles in one order?+

Yes, and the bundle price still applies. The two- and three-set prices are based on how many sets are in the basket, not on them being the same style — so a Classic plus a Lilac comes to the two-set price exactly as two Classics would. Add the first style, come back to the page, pick another and add that. It is the same box of twenty-four graded nails either way; only the design on the big toe changes.

How long does a set actually last?+

Honestly, it depends far more on you than on the product. Toes worn mostly in shoes, kept out of very hot water and long soaks, hold well for days at a time. Daily swimming, long hot baths, or a job that has your feet wet will take a tip off sooner — and because you have spares in the tray, replacing one is a thirty-second job rather than starting over. Anyone quoting you a single guaranteed number for every person is guessing. What we will say plainly is that the first hour matters most: keep them dry then, and the rest looks after itself.

Can I really reuse them?+

Yes, and this is the part that changes the arithmetic. When you take a set off, the jelly tab peels away from the back of the tip and the tip itself is undamaged. Give it a wipe, and a fresh tab puts it back on. That means a box is not one pedicure — it is several, with the tips getting a little softer at the edges each time. Buying two or three sets at once is less about needing three pedicures and more about having your sizes already sorted the next time you want it done in four minutes.

What if they're not for me?+

Write to us within 30 days of delivery and we refund the order. Thirty days is far longer than you need — the honest test takes about four minutes — but it means you can order now and try them the week you actually need them rather than the day they land. There is no form and no set of questions to get past; reply to any email from us. Orders are processed in 1 to 3 business days and ship tracked, so you can see where the parcel is from the moment it leaves.
